Eileen Lara

Eileen Lara is one of the winners of the Micro Grid Academy talent of the year award 2020. She won this award from her outstanding achievement of skilling women in renewable energy in an innovative space commonly called the Women Renewable Energy Association Uganda (WREAU). Concurrently Eileen Lara is a Project Engineer heading the solar and energy efficiency sections with the Centre for Research in Energy and Energy Conservation (CREEC) Makerere University as well as a member of the Uganda International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) National Committee, the ATC82 of the African Electrotechnical Standardisation Commission (AFSEC) as well as the Uganda National Bureau of Standards electro technology committee.

In her years of work, she has gathered a wealth of experience in energy consultancy, solar PV design and installation, energy auditing, policy analysis and project management. She has led several research projects with partners across the globe and is also one of the few female Certified Energy Auditors (CEA) in Uganda.
