The SADC Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (SACREEE) presents the SADC 2018 Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Status Report. The report aims to showcase the status of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency policy patterns and investment opportunities within the SADC Region.  It captures the current status of the renewable energy markets, investments in distributed and on-grid solutions as well as examine the policy trends and regulatory frameworks in the region.  It also explores the latest market developments and activities undertaken in the SADC region to accelerate the diffusion of renewable energy and energy efficiency nationally and regionally and promote foreign investments.

The report was developed through an interactive and consultative approach with SADC Member States and peer-reviewed by international experts.  It is to be noted that the cut-off date for data and information was May 2018.

The report is developed by SACREEE in partnership with United Nations Development Organisation (UNIDO) and Renewable Energy Network for the 21st Century (REN21) and with financial support from the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC).

The report available in English, French and Portuguese can be accessed at  https://www.sacreee.org/document/sadc-2018-renewable-energy-and-energy-efficiency-status-report
