The SADC Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (SACREEE) presents the SADC 2018 Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Status Report.

The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Strategy and Action Plan (REEESAP) was adopted in July 2017 in Eswatini by the SADC Ministers responsible for Energy. The document spans the period 2016-2030 and it aims to provide a framework for SADC Member States to develop their own renewable energy and energy efficiency strategies and action plans, leading to greater uptake of RE resources as well as mobilization of financial resources for the sector.

The first project brochure on Energy Efficient Lighting and Appliances in East and Southern Africa (EELA) provides an overview of the objectives of the project and the main activities which are going to be implemented.

This booklet showcases business opportunities in energy efficiency. It explains several energy efficiency service business models and how they can be used for the benefit of both private and public sector energy users. In addition to benefiting the energy service businesses, energy users and economies of the 21 countries in the EAC and SADC regions, the energy services models can also contribute towards meeting the Sustainable Development Goals.

This report present the findings and scoping assessment of the SADC Industrial Energy Efficiency Program (SIEEP) as well as the implementation plan of the program.
