On 23 June 2020 the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), with the financial support of the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), are organizing a regional meeting to validate the feasibility and viability of a Clean Energy Centre for the ECO region (CECECO). Representatives from all ECO Member States, namely Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, will participate in the discussions. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak the workshop is being held online.
The meeting is part of a consultative preparatory process, which includes broad stakeholder consultations and the development of a baseline and feasibility assessment. These documents are now presented to ECO Member States for validation. Further information on the workshop is available here.
